silver jubilee

after much confusion, finally i have chosen the courses for this semester. yes, my internship is over and i am back to this place called joka management in local lingo. and now that i think of those 9 weeks, i can't stop thinking about my favorite timepass in pune. as most of the readers might already be knowing, it was none other than watching movies in the closeby multiplex E-Square. of the 25 movies (and hence the title of this post) that i watched in theatres during my summers stint starting from 1st april (the day i landed in mumbai) and ending on 6th june (back to kolkata), i graced the above mentioned multiplex on 21 such occasions. since watching close to 3 movies a week in theatre is no small deal (at least i feel so), i thought of dedicating a post to this great feat that i had achieved. given below is the complete list of the movies watched in chronological order and my personal opinion about the movie (max 1-2 line). as this will turn out to be a boring exercise for most of the readers, proceed further only if you have nothing good to do in life. your courage will surely be appreciated by the author. the default theatre is e-square, pune and has been specified within braces in case of any exception.

1. Zeher (shreyas, mumbai): fast paced and so viewer didn't get time to look for goof-ups, great songs, paisa vasool
2. Meet The Fockers : good comedy but the prequel was better, ben stiller was great as usual
3. Miss Congeniality 2 (r mall, mumbai): okayish comedy, here again the first part was better
4. Lucky : fundoo russian locales, sallu bhaiyya was cute but only few could hear the dialogues of sneha ullal
5. Khamosh : the less said, the better
6. Mumbai Express : watch only if you are a fan of Vijay Raaz and Saurab Shukla
7. Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaaye : the most bogus and pathetic movie i had watched
8. Hitch : a great comedy romantic movie, will smith is great as a dating consultant, even the supporting cast rocked big time
9. Waqt : typical family drama, only plus point are the comic scenes between rajpal yadav and boman irani
10. Page 3 : great depiction of the elite socialite class of mumbai and their double-standards, must watch for those who love good cinema
11. Hazaron Khwaishen Aisi : a very dark and serious movie on the naxalite movie, still undecided whether i liked this movie or not
12. Kaal : the movie is not as bad as most people say, the suspense is good plus the 2-hour length comes as a relief to those who find this movie a junk
13. Kya Kool Hain Hum : a out and out comedy, fun to watch in a group, don't risk watching it with your parents
14. Kingdom Of Heaven : good depiction of the holy wars but the battle scenes are no match to that of Gladiator
15. Main Aisa Hi Hoon : better watch its hollywood inspiration I Am Sam
16. Flight Of Phoenix : another of those rescue-from-great-distress movies, still can be watched if there is no other option
17. Jo Bole So Nihaal : utterly crap and nonsensical movie
18. Kya Kool Hain Hum : same as above
19. Star Wars 3 : after the disappointing part 1 and 2 this one was a welcome change, great direction and special effect, perfect ending to blend with part 4
20. Naina (west end, pune): supposed to be a supernatural thriller, but turned out to be no thrills and no frills movie
21. Lemony Snickets : a very cute movie about the struggle of 3 orphaned siblings to save themselves from the clutches of their greedy benefactor
22. Nazar : good suspense but story is not as chilling like 100 Days, still can be watched once
23. Kung Fu Hustle : better than all of those jackie chan action movies, great comedy and great action, a must watch
24. Bunty Aur Babli : very innovative storyline but drags a lot due to songs, both Big B and Junior B act good but aishwarya rai looks sick in the item mujra
25. D (innovative, bangalore): another of those slick ganster movies from ram gopal varma's factory but this is no Satya

this brings me to the end of the post. just wanted to add that yesterday only i watched Parineeta and liked the movie. saif ali khan has acted great and vidya balan looks very beautiful. furthermore, calcutta has been created magnificently in the movie.
